Itinerary

Day 1: Lima - Cusco
Arrive and transfer to your hotel. If you arrive early, city tours, museum visits or sightseeing excursions may be arranged. Overnight in Lima.

Day 2: Cusco
Early morning flight to Cusco. Our guides pick you up at the airport. Transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day free to relax and to acclamatizee. (B)

Day 3: Cusco
In the morning we will have a guided walking city tour. We will visit local markets, cathedrals & the temple of the Sun. In the afternoon will visit the nearby Inca sights. At night we will receive instructions for the upcoming trek. Overnight at the Casa Andina San Blas. (B) |
Day 4: Cusco - Sacred Valley
A full day guided visit to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, one hour from Cusco. We will visit typical Inca towns like Pisaq, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo. Each of them give an insight of the rich local Inca culture, we will explore ruins and we will have time to look arond on the colurfull textile and handcraft markets. Overnight in the Sacred Valley. Day 5, 6, 7, and 8: hiking
The next 4 days we'll trek along the incredible Vilcanota mountain range. You get plenty of time to enjoy the stunning scenery of snowcapped peaks, like the famous Mount Veronica & Mount Sal-kantay, waterfalls and mountain lakes. On the way you will meet the local people and you will participate in a typical Peruvian lamb barbecue called Pachamanca. (vegetarian options are available). We will visit ancient Inca sights and our guides will tell you about their history. (B,L,D). Each day we hike for about 6 hours. Every day we will try to arrive between 15.00 - 16.00 at our campsites. During the trek our guides will prepare your food to give you the chance to relax and explore the surroundings. But, if cooking is your passion, feel free to help. (B.L,D)
Day 5: apox. 10 km / 6 hours / Sacred Valley - Rayan
Day 6: aprox. 10 km / 6 hours / Rayan - Canchacanchayok
Day 7: aprox. 13 km / 7 hours / Canchacanchayok - Qhesqa
Day 8: aprox. 10 km / 5 hours / Qhesqa - Quente - km88 |
Day 9: Km88 - Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu
Today we start with an early walk to the trainstop of KM 88 where we will board the comfortable Vista Dome train for a picturesque ride beside the Urubamba River and through a magnificent cloud forest to Aguas Calientes. There a bus will take us to the magical ruins of Machu Picchu, where you have the entire day to explore one of the 7 world wonders. Later in the afternoon you have the option to visit the hot springs of Aguas Calientes. Overnight at Hatuchay Towers hotel. (B,L,D) |
Day 10: Machu Picchu - Cusco
Today you have the option to experience sunrise at Machu Picchu Climb the steep Huayna Picchu mountain on the opposite of the Machu Picchu ruins for an outstanding view of the entire complex.
The afternoon train brings you back to Cusco indicating the end of our hiking adventure. (B)
